Giving Back - An Important Part of BridgePoint's Identity

BridgePoint is proud to be involved in extensive fundraising initiatives and support activities

March 5, 2018

Working closely with accident victims and their families, BridgePoint Financial (“BridgePoint”) sees first-hand the often-overwhelming obstacles that so many endure: catastrophic injury, long and gruelling recoveries, and mental and physical exhaustion, coupled with the financial hardship that injured individuals often face while pursuing a legal claim can be too much to bear. As BridgePoint strives to protect the rights of our clients to full and fair access to justice while they pursue their claims, so too does BridgePoint strive to support them in their journey to recovery.

“Giving back is an integral part of BridgePoint’s identity,” said Stephen Pauwels, Principal. “The foundation of our business is to support accident victims at all stages of their recovery process, including well past the resolution of their legal claim. Giving back to the organizations that are advocating, treating, and researching on their behalf is an essential part of who we are as a company.”

BridgePoint is proud to be involved in extensive fundraising initiatives and support activities including donations to many worthy causes of over $100,000 per year, volunteerism and event sponsorship.

We invite you to learn more about a few of these important organizations and the incredible work they deliver:

Foothills Hospital Brain Injury Patient Experience Strategist Program

Led by the law office of Cuming & Gillespie, BridgePoint was honored to support their fund-raising efforts in launching the Foothills Hospital Brain Injury Patient Experience Strategist program with a donation to the program. The program supports patients who have experienced a stroke, brain or spinal cord injury on their road to recovery. The program provides specialized rehabilitation support, assisting patients as they recover in hospital and transition back into the community. BridgePoint looks forward to continuing its support of this important program in 2018.

ParaSport Ontario

ParaSport Ontario is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that all people have access to enjoy the many benefits of sports and to ensure that accommodations are made so those with physical disabilities can participate. It offers an incredible opportunity to help those who have suffered from an accident return to the sports they once loved and share in the camaraderie that goes along with them.

BC Adaptive Snowsports

BC Adaptive Snowsports works to enhance the quality of life for children, youth, and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities by providing opportunities to experience the joy, freedom and health and wellness benefits of adaptive snowsports. BridgePoint is proud to be a corporate sponsor for BC Adaptive Snowsports, supporting inclusive programming throughout the province.

Ontario Brain Injury Association

160,000 Canadians sustain brain injuries each year and of those injured, roughly 50% are sustained from falls and motor vehicle accidents. The Ontario Brain Injury Association works to enhance the lives of Ontarians living with the effects of acquired brain injury through education, awareness and support. BridgePoint is pleased to support the annual Traumatic Brain Injury Conference, among their other initiatives, as they advance knowledge on traumatic brain injury in scientific research and clinical care.

St. Michael’s Hospital Head Injury Clinic

St. Michael’s Hospital Head Injury Clinic provides consultation, management and treatment for patients who have sustained traumatic brain injury (“TBI”). Working directly with TBI survivors, the Head Injury Clinic also ensures patients receive information and access to services and provide a collaborative approach with other healthcare providers to best meet patients' needs. As an annual donor, BridgePoint was honored in 2016 with an induction to the St. Michael’s Foundation Donor Wall.

BridgePoint would like to thank these and the many other organizations that work tirelessly to provide the help so desperately needed by so many individuals and families across Canada:
